Rates provided reflect standard graduate tuition and fee rates for Academic Year 2024-2025 and are an estimate of costs, varying based on credits enrolled and other mitigating factors.

Reduced (Tuition Rate)1 - After 10 semesters of full-time study in one doctoral degree program (excluding the summer semesters), continuing students may be eligible for a reduced tuition rate. A semester of full-time study is defined as a fall or spring semester in which at least 9 hours of credit are earned. Students in the Shepherd School of Music and the School of Architecture are eligible for reduced rate tuition after six semesters of full-time study.

Course Fees

Courses having additional charges are provided on the Course Schedule. In some cases, the associated charges may be in lieu of Rice tuition and/or required fees.
