Credit Card Payments - Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express are accepted through our online suite. A non-refundable 3.00% service fee is added to online payments using this method to assist with the exchange fees associated with credit card processing.

Electronic Check Payments - An electronic version of a check that directly links to your bank account for payments. We encourage payment from a checking or savings account in order to avoid a service fee for online credit/debit card transactions. Note: The minimum amount that can be paid online using an Electronic Check is $0.75.

How do I access or view my billing statements?

To find your bill, log into Esther with your NetID and password. Under Students, select Students - Account Summary and Financial Aid > Bill Payment Suite. Once in the Payment Suite, select My Account > Statements > View.

When are billing statements issued?

Billing statements are issued on the 1st of each month.

Is there a fee to enroll in a payment plan?

Yes, there is a non-refundable fee of $75 per term to enroll in a Deferred Payment Plan.

How do I request a Late Payment Fee Waiver?

To request a late payment fee waiver, you can submit a Late Fee Waiver Request for consideration.

Does Rice accept payment via wire for tuition?

Rice does not accept direct wire transfers for tuition payments. International students should submit payments through Flywire, Rice’s designated platform for secure international transactions.

How can I use financial aid to pay my balance? / How can I submit a scholarship?

The Office of Financial Aid administers and awards student financial aid packages and maintains student financial aid records. Most aid funds are credited directly to the student’s account at the beginning of each semester. All scholarships, grants, departmental awards, or sponsorships must be reported to the Office of Financial Aid. Questions about your aid? I just made my Flywire payment, but why don't I see it on my account?

Flywire payments typically take 5–7 business days to be processed and reflected in your account.

I got a call from a debt collector. Can I pay Rice directly?

No. If your account has been referred to a debt collection agency, you must make your payment directly to the collector. Payments cannot be accepted by Rice once the account is in collections.
