Student Health Insurance

The Student Health Insurance charge, supporting the annual Rice Student Health Insurance Plan premium provided by Aetna, is assessed to all students enrolled in traditional on-campus degree programs.

Students may opt-out of the Rice Student Health Insurance Plan if their outside insurance meets the Rice University Waiver Requirements. Students approved for waiver of coverage will receive notification of approval via e-mail and can expect for a waiver payment to be added to their student account within the upcoming days.
